Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation
(www.wildlife-rescue.org) Founder Lynn Cuny tells a story in her latest newsletter about a hiker who saw a hawk falling from the sky after being shot. After hours of searching he found the wounded bird and took him to Lynn's wonderful sanctuary.
She writes, "I suppose it is part of the human paradox. There are some who would shoot a great bird out of the sky for no reason other than their own twisted idea of 'sport.' And others who would rescue that bird, as that young man did, and help him back to health and a return to freedom."
Let's send prayers of gratitude to the young rescuer and to Lynn and her staff, and let's send prayers of transformation and wisdom to those who do not yet understand the sacredness of all life. May they have a radical experience of the Truth of our kinship with all beings.
Also, National Primate Liberation Week
(www.saenonline.org) started October 6 and lasts until the 14th. During that time, there will be a lot of love and energy pouring out for primates in laboratories across the country in demonstrations, vigils, and other activities.
Whenever there is focus like that on specific animals, even if we cannot physically join an event, we can increase the power of that love, concern, compassion, and action with our prayers.
Thank you from my heart to yours-we are all connected in Divine Love and Truth.
