Prayer Circle for Animals Weekly Update
May 13, 2013

Our prayers for all animals continue to circle the earth, to uplift humanity's consciousness, and to bless the animals themselves. Thank you for joining people around the world who are praying this prayer in many different languages but all with the same love:

"COMPASSION ENCIRCLES THE EARTH FOR ALL BEINGS EVERYWHERE"

Fantastic News for animals and for those who wish to speak and sing for them. Daniel Redwood has just released his CD “Songs for Animals, People & the Earth.” Last August, I shared a YouTube of Daniel singing his “Sanctuary Song (Someone, Not Something)” on the Update. As it turns out, that was just the beginning of the creation of this amazing album which also includes: “With Us, Not For Us,” “Justice,” “Talking Vegan Blues,” “Choose a New Story,” “Song of the World’s Last Whale,” “Plant the Seeds,” and “Rise Up (Make This Moment Last).”

In my review, I wrote: “Daniel’s music is a gift to all sacred life. The animals of earth have been singing to us for centuries. Now Daniel is singing to them and for them. The universal language of music has the power to elevate global consciousness and to help create the gentle, nonviolent, vegan world we want to share with all living beings. This transformative and heartfelt album is surely one of the most powerful tools we have now to open people's hearts so that together we can sing a new song of peace for all and finally end the devastating war on animals.”

In Will’s review, he wrote: “As the vegan movement gathers momentum, creativity and passion are blending to uplift and transform our culture. This is especially evident in Daniel Redwood’s album, Songs for Animals, People and the Earth. With heart-touching lyrics and seasoned musicianship, these songs are soulful anthems to an awakening consciousness of kindness for all living beings. Music has long been recognized for its power to stir feelings and galvanize social change, and this album goes a long way toward capturing and expressing the essence of the vegan movement’s ethos of compassion. A perfect gift for animal lovers of all kinds.”

The album has also received these wonderful reviews from other animal rights leaders:

“Daniel Redwood is the troubadour of the animal rights movement. He puts their plight, and their liberation, to music in a way that we can sing along until the world catches up that all creatures deserve compassion.” ~Victoria Moran, author, Main Street Vegan

“The peace movement has Phil Ochs and Pete Seeger; the animal rights movement has Daniel Redwood, whose songs of justice for animals are deeply moving and inspiring. I love this album.” ~Bruce Friedrich, Senior Director for Advocacy, Farm Sanctuary

“I find these songs at once moving and inspiring. Daniel Redwood's passion and compassion shine through in every line.” ~Melanie Joy, author, Why We Love Dogs, Eat Pigs, and Wear Cows

“Daniel Redwood masterfully synthesizes immensely beautiful music with the critically important message that we need to stop raising, slaughtering, and eating animals. Through these songs, Daniel conveys the painful reality of our current food choices as they involve animals in an artistic and inspiring manner that expresses vision and hope.... I find this CD inspiring and encourage everyone to listen to the powerful message and then share it with others.”
~ Dr. Richard Oppenlander, author, Comfortably Unaware: Global Depletion and Food Choice Responsibility

You can find additional reviews from Jonathan Balcombe, Dr. Neal Barnard, Gene Baur, Paul Shapiro, and Robin Robertson, at danielredwoodsongs.com.

Daniel’s soothing voice and long-awaited lyrics have touched my heart deeply. This CD has the potential to awaken people to the plight of animals and move them to take action. You will want to have one for yourself, but we all need to keep extra copies to give away as powerful consciousness raising gifts.

You can read the lyrics and hear Daniel singing at DanielRedwoodSongs.com, share thoughts on Daniel Redwood Songs’ facebook, and follow him on Twitter @DanRedwoodSongs.

P.S. a special note from Daniel!

I am so very grateful that you are helping to share the message of these songs. I created the album to spread awareness of the beauty, sensitivity, and intelligence of animals (especially those that people use for food and clothing) and thereby to wake as many people as possible out of the dominant cultural trance so that people can choose a new story based on compassion and nonviolence.

I believe that social justice movements need songs; to share our message, strengthen our sense of community and inspire people to take action. It is an honor to share these songs with all of you.

If you haven’t already done so, please join us at the Prayer Circle for Animals facebook page.

With Love, peace, and gratitude from Judy, and Will, Madeleine, and the Circle of Compassion team.

May all beings be happy. May all beings be free.
