One of the great gifts that comes to us when we align ourselves with justice, peace, and liberation for all beings is that our souls are free to be alive and awake. As Eleanora Duse wrote (quoted in the spring, 2013 edition of "La Joie" of the Animals' Peace Garden):
Bristol Bay, on the Alaska coast, and all who call it home are in extreme danger. Bears, eagles, 45% of the world’s sockeye salmon, and many others, as well as Native communities live in this unbelievably beautiful place. Yet, as you probably have heard, the Pebble Mine wants to use it and destroy it in a misguided effort to mine gold and copper. Not only would this destroy the water and land, but it would create a gigantic lake full of toxins from the mining operations. Ten billion tons of waste would then sit in an active earthquake area, and 87 miles of salmon streams would be destroyed.
The Sierra Club and other groups are asking us to tell EPA Acting Administrator Bob Perciasepe to stop the Pebble Mine from mining Bristol Bay because it would be disastrous to the pristine wilderness and all who live there as well as break the Clean Water Act.
As a Prayer Circle, we can go one step farther and lend our prayer energy to this effort as we visualize and know that hatred, violence and greed contain no truth, and that enough love in thought and deed can reveal their powerlessness. Action with prayer can make miracles happen.
We hold a vision together of a world of peace and freedom for all beings.
As Seals and Croft sang back in the ‘60’s
We'll have children of the Kingdom.
They won't be torn by war, nor will they
Kill or hate, or hesitate, to love justice.
Let us carry that vision now and always and know it already exists waiting to be revealed to all.
If you haven’t already done so, please join us at the Prayer Circle for Animals facebook page.
