Sharing the Vegan Truth with the
environmental community
The Kansas Sierra Club has once again published an article in its
Planet Kansas about veganism.
The editor has accepted all the articles I have submitted for my column
“Eating As Though the Earth Matters” over the last few years.
This is great news, because I believe so strongly that
environmentalists care deeply about how their actions affect the earth
and want to “be the change” they want to see in the world. Many
are already vegan, and others are edging closer.
Death and the global shortage of
grassland
This particular article, entitled “Where have all the cow patties
gone?,” is about the overwhelming destruction caused by animal
agriculture, especially with regard to the global shortage of grassland
which now exists and the unbridled, unregulated pollution. Big Ag
responds to this shortage by slashing and burning more forests in order
to graze more animals and/or grow feed for them. This displaces or
kills native people and kills billions of animals who depended on the
ruined habitat for their very lives.
An action to take
Please share the article with environmentalists you know who have not
yet connected the dots with how animal agriculture is causing such
destruction to our air, water, earth, trees, wildlife, and, of course,
the animals being raised and violently killed. The link is

A visualization to help them see what
we see
This week let us hold in our hearts the vision of all the courageous
environmental activists awakening to the critical connection between
veganism and saving the earth. Let us feel gratitude for their
willingness to give of themselves to stop coal power plants, mining,
damming rivers, fracking, and so many other ways that they speak truth
to power. Let us give thanks that this huge group of people cares so
much about the earth. Now let us see them in a room with many
open windows, but one window is covered with dark curtains. We
walk in, gently pull back the curtains, and ask them—“Please see what
we see, and join us in the noble work of creating a non-violent and
loving world where all beings are free, and all have access to a clean
and beautiful earth. We can create a vegan world
together.”
With Love, peace, and gratitude from Judy, and Will, Madeleine, and the Circle of Compassion team.
