Our 2016 New Year’s Promise to All Beings
 
Dear Animals of Earth,
You have been crying out to humanity
to wake up to our kinship with you,
And for centuries we have not heard you.
But now we are awake, and more are waking with us.
Now we hear you.
 
We go forward into this new year of 2016
With this promise to each one of you.
We will bear witness to the atrocities you have suffered
for centuries at human hands;
We will bear witness to your infinite gifts to us,
We will humbly honor your sacred nature.
We will make your cries heard around the world.
 
Here is our gift to you.  Here is our atonement--
That we will walk side by side with you,
defending you, teaching people the truth about you,
And working to bring a total and complete end
to violence toward all of you everywhere.
 
We call upon the Loving Universe
and the Grace of Divine Love
To help us as we humans join with all of you
to witness the advent of a new day
In which our broken hearts are healed by your forgiveness,
And your broken hearts are healed by our awakening to Truth;
And to affirm the dawning of a new Paradise on Earth
In which atonement becomes at-one-ment.
And Peace, Joy, and True Freedom reign forever for all beings.
