Greetings of love and gratitude from
Judy Carman
Death in Texas: Orca Unna died along
with thousands of cows. Last week Unna, an orca who
suffered at Sea World in San Antonio, Texas, died at the early age of
18. Two other orcas have died there in the last six months.
According to In Defense of Animals (IDA), she is the 38th Sea World
orca to die young. She was born in Orlando, the daughter of
Tilikum (featured in the film Blackfish) and taken from her imprisoned
mother at age 6. She never knew freedom. In the wild, she could have
possibly lived to be 100 years of age. IDA honored her with these
words: “RIP Unna. And may your premature death serve to END
this absurd cruelty once and FOR ALL.”
Meanwhile, Texas also witnessed the
deaths of thousands of dairy cows who perished in a winter storm.
If these cows had been free to live normal lives, they very likely
would have sensed the coming storm and travelled to safe places.
Also, there would not have been such a huge population of them in one
place. But human arrogance and lust for power over others has
created these totally unnatural, torturous, and cruel conditions for
the orcas trapped at Sea World, cows trapped in dairy factories, and
billions of other innocent animals around the world.
A Prayer for Human Beings to Really
See What We Have Done to the Animals: We ask for
forgiveness for ourselves and all people for the crimes committed by
our species against innocent animals. We give thanks that we have
been able to break through the programming that made us think it was
morally acceptable to dominate, exploit, and kill animals. And
with passionate love filling our hearts for all the living, we hold a
vision of billions of people suddenly SEEING the insanity, immorality,
and cruelty of what is being done to captive orcas, the dairy cows, and
all animals. We see people everywhere taking the vow of ahimsa,
nonviolence, and harmlessness along with us. We give thanks that
the flame of love for all beings burns in every human heart, We see
that little flame burning brighter and brighter. And we feel such
joy as we envision a future in which humanity no longer brings
destruction and pain to earth, but instead—love, healing, and
tenderness.
As always, with tears of gratitude, I send my thanks to each of you,
dear Prayer Circle members, for joining this circle of compassion and
shining the Light of Truth for all to see, so that one day soon, all
beings will live in peace together.
May compassion and love reign over all the earth for all beings
everywhere.
Thank you all for your devotion to truth, love, liberation and peace
for all beings.
With Love, peace, and gratitude from Judy Carman, and greetings from
