And Our Prayer for the Week from Judy Carman
16 DAY WALK IN MAINE BEGINNING OCTOBER 11, THE DAY AFTER INDIGENOUS
PEOPLES DAY.
Peace, environmental, and animal activists will walk in spiritual solidarity
on this multi-issue, multi-day journey. “We come together out of our deep
concern about the many different wars being waged on Mother Earth, ranging from
over-fishing, deforestation, and human-caused extinctions, to climate
disruption and endless war,” said Russell Wray of Citizens Opposing
Active Sonar Threats (COAST)” The walkers will begin at Indian Island
(Penobscot Nation) and end at Kittery, Maine. Buddhist monks and nuns, Native
Americans, and many other people will take part in this historic and powerful
walk. One of the sponsors is Peace to All Beings (one of my projects). When our
dear prayer partner, Jeff, told me about the walk, I donated 16 Animal Peace
Prayer Flags to him, because he wanted animal liberation to be included among
these many cries for justice. His plan is to have 16 volunteers wear them on
their backs during the long walk.
PRAYERS FOR JUSTICE, PEACE, AND LOVINGKINDNESS TO
PREVAIL FOR ALL BEINGS EVERYWHERE. We give thanks for all those
activists in Maine who are walking to bring this great vision to all who will
listen. We are so grateful to Jeff for making sure that the animals of earth
will be represented in this inspiring demonstration of Truth. May the
flag’s prayer of freedom for all beings blow from the winds of Maine to
every human heart all over the world. May all activists see that animal rights
is a social justice movement that is inseparable from all the others. May the
wars against people and animals be seen as one and the same. Animal liberation
is human liberation. May every single step that is taken on this historic and
courageous walk bring all of us and every being closer to living in peace. May
our True Hearts guide us toward Ahimsa, peace, liberation, and lovingkindness
for all.
As always, I send my thanks to each of you, dear Prayer Circle members, for
joining this circle of compassion and shining the Light of Truth for all to
see, so that one day soon, all beings will live in peace together. Our prayers
for all animals continue to circle the earth, to uplift humanity’s
consciousness, and to bless the animals themselves. Thank you for joining
people around the world who are praying these weekly prayers as well as the
Noon Prayer.
With Love, peace, and gratitude from Judy Carman, and greetings from Will,
Madeleine, Tara and the Circle of Compassion team
