Resolutions and regrets
January First is a day of hope for nearly everyone—a day to make resolutions which usually involve attempting to stop a bad habit or just simply to be a better person. And there are global hopes as well for world peace and an end to hunger. It is also a day of regrets and even mourning for lost opportunities, friendships, etc.
Mourning the loss of billions of animals
As prayer circle members and activists, we mourn the loss of the billions of animals who have suffered and died this year under the heels of human greed . An estimated 124,000 animals are killed every minute of every day. We ask for forgiveness that we were not able to stop the killing this last year. Let us seek comfort from each other as we bear witness to the suffering and killing that continues unabated.
Our hope and vision for a vegan world
But let us not forget that this new year is also cause for hope and faith that we are moving closer than ever to a vegan world—a world in which human beings have finally faced and embraced their true nature as loving, compassionate, and nonviolent creatures, and all animals are free.
Huge progress has been made these last few decades thanks to you and the many other activists around the world. “Vegan” is a household word now, there are more people living vegan lives than ever before, the number of animals being killed for food is declining, and some animal labs have closed. Our work is not over, but the fact that we have made so much progress is cause for celebration and immense gratitude.
A week to hold this revolutionary vision and believe it into being
This week, more than ever, let us hold tightly to our revolutionary vision of peace in all hearts and peace and freedom for all people and all animals. This is the week of hope in which we claim that the only real world is a world built upon and functioning by Truth and Love. And in our hearts let us visualize and believe that world right into manifestation.
Thank you for your faithful prayers and visionary thoughts. Thanks to all of you, compassion is encircling the earth for all beings. Thank you for your devotion to truth, love, liberation and peace for all beings.
With Love, peace, and gratitude from Judy, and Will, Madeleine, and the Circle of Compassion team.
