The Mindset of Domination is Dying
As I wrote last week about the outrage we are seeing among people over Seaworld, the killing of Marius the giraffe, and many other internationally visible instances of animal cruelty, these are signs of the end of the age of domination.
Why does it matter?
The worldview or mindset that might makes right and that, therefore, the mightiest human beings have the right to dominate and exploit all others has been causing violence, death, and destruction for centuries. That worldview must deteriorate in order for the true nature of humanity as compassionate, cooperative, and loving beings to shine forth. Although it may seem too slow in coming, I see it happening all around us.
Why is it happening? Our own Will and Madeleine Tuttle have been on tour speaking out for animals and for the flowering of human consciousness for many years. They are in New Zealand right now showing the way of nonviolence and vegan living. Will’s book, The World Peace Diet, has been read by tens of thousands all over the world. Many other great authors, photographers, movie producers, speakers, poets, sign carriers, marchers, vigilers, leafleters, and those brave souls ordering vegan meals under social pressure to have a steak instead—all these, along with the power of song from Paul Seymour, Daniel Redwood, Vegan Smythe—and you-- are bringing about the greatest revolution in consciousness ever known on this planet.
Let us pray this week for Will and Madeleine and all the wayshowers
Light of the world, love of the world, we give thanks for these heroes of our time, willing to give of themselves so unselfishly in order to bring an end to war and violence against animals, earth, and people. As we each join them and offer what we have to give to this great transformation, we ask for the radiant, transcendent power of Infinite Love to link us all together, enliven us all with energy, strength, and the vision to see clearly the peaceable kingdom we are creating together. May all animals hear us, feel our love, and understand—domination is dying and Love is here to stay.
With Love, peace, and gratitude from Judy, and Will, Madeleine, and the Circle of Compassion team.
