Summer’s Heat Calls for Action
Summer has officially begun, and for billions of animals that means
increased suffering. As members of the Circle of Compassion we
put actions together with our sacred intentions for animal
liberation. Let us all be extra watchful for dogs in parked cars,
horses with no water or shelter, abandoned pets left to fend for
themselves, chained or fenced animals who have no shelter from the
heat, zoo and circus animals, and so many others. We can report
abuses and do what we can to make sure action is taken, and we can help
wild animals and birds by providing water for them especially in places
where there is drought
And for Comforting and Uplifting Prayer
Of course, there are the billions of farmed animals whose suffering we
cannot as yet ease though our hearts ache to do so. The confined
animals in huge barns filled with excrement must suffer even more
horribly in summer’s heat. But, because our liberation campaign
involves prayer as well as action, we can do something for them,
something real and meaningful. Gandhi said that prayer was the
only thing that is real. I think that is because the prayer he
was talking about was the sending of Unconditional Love to whomever or
whatever situation needed it.
Gratitude for Love Everywhere
So this week, as we enjoy summer activities with our friends and
families, let us hold in our hearts the Truth that liberation is coming
for all animals. We give thanks that Love is everywhere and in
every being, including the human ones. It is with this Cosmic,
Omnipresent Love that we are creating a world of peace and freedom for
all animals everywhere. We see you, dear animals of earth, we
hear you, and we love you.
Gratitude for You
And to thank each and every one of you, I wanted to share this
beautiful dedication from Norm Phelps, who dedicated his book, The
Longest Struggle to the “Unknown Animal Activist:”
“Representing the millions of animal
advocates and caregivers around the world
who labor in anonymity, whose names will never appear in any history
book or
chronicle of heroes, although every one of them belongs there.
They do not
seek recognition, and certainly not money—often they donate themselves
into
perpetual poverty. They seek only to relieve the suffering of the
weakest, the
most defenseless of those who live at the mercy of our merciless
societies.
They are the pride and hope of the human race.”
With Love, peace, and gratitude from Judy, and Will, Madeleine, and the Circle of Compassion team.
